August New Release

Happy Saturday! Where has Summer gone? It seems like school was just let out yesterday. I am going to savor every last bit of Summer while also preparing for Fall. I love Fall although here in Southern CA it just doesn't feel like it. I remember those Fall days in New England with the cooler, crisp air coming on as we anticipate the change in season and the leaves preparing to turn beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow. 

Smoothie Recipe

One of the things I love about these cozies are that it fits the re-usable tumblers that you purchase at the store. I use my tumblers to drink my smoothies. It is the perfect size drink for me. I make a protein smoothie for days when I don't have time to cook breakfast. 

Christmas Cozies

It's the most wonderful time of the year. This time of the year our family plan out fun holiday traditions that we've been doing since our kids were little. Going up to the mountains for a country Christmas celebration, sipping cider and just enjoying a nice walk and visiting small shops along the way.

Every year we put up our tree and decorated it with trinkets our children have made, trips we've taken and gifts from friends. All of the ornaments are precious memories we've collected through the years.

I also wanted to thank you all for supporting my shop and continuing to do what I love. The last day to order and have it shipped in time for Christmas is December 12th.

New Cup Cozies In The Shop

The shop is open and these products have been in the works for a while. I am so excited to introduce to you our new iced coffee/cold drinks insulated cup sleeves.

Shop Update

I have been working behind the scenes to get the shop ready to re-open. It's been such a fun process to choose the designs and fabrics to include in the opening. This is a small sampling of the fabrics 

Halloween Time

It's been a long time since our family has put effort into decorating for Halloween since were not home on Halloween while they were little going trick-or-treating. This year it was different. We're actually going to be home to pass out treats. Our girls wanted to put up decorations so off we went to buy some that are already made and some made at home. I actually enjoyed the whole process and look forward to decorating a lot more. First off was to make some bow ties for our cats. Through trial and error, I was able to whip these up. After the mistakes, it was a breeze and boy was I whipping them out left and right.

A Bakery Stop

Two or three years ago we discovered a small cafe in Ramona, CA with the most delicious cinnamon rolls ever. Since then we've gone up to the cafe once a year to have our treat. We were disappointed to see that they've shrunken the size and still charge the same amount. It still taste good.

Gardening

We've done some gardening on and off the last few years. We took a break because we didn't have much success the year before. Our soil wasn't the greatest and we had major gopher problems. This year I did some soul searching and realized that my heavy schedule was causing me to neglect other responsibilities. My family has gone to mostly organic or non-gmo foods due to health and dietary changes. It has been wonderful to really taste foods in their natural and unprocessed state.

Nature

There are so many things I am wanting to do but the flu reared its ugly head in our home. We don't know how we got exposed but it's not a fun. It's taken along time to get better but we're going to power through this. After being indoors for a few days, I just needed to get outside for some fresh air and going outside was venturing into my backyard. 

Playtime

It's been such a nice four day weekend. I got to hang out with one of my girls, going to lunch, the beach and taking a walk to visit the local bookstore and library. Now it's time to get back to creating some fun new things.

Stamping and Cardmaking

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was kind of quiet except for the mess I made working on some handmade cards. Aside from sewing for the shop I also love to stamp. I have been stamping on and off for many many years. 

Snow Days

I took so many photos on our last trip that it would take a lot of posts to be able to share them all so suffice it to say, this will be my last post for this fun family trip. The weather was so cold. It was mostly below 20 degrees during our stay in Utah. As much as I love to see snow, I am so thankful to be living in So. Cal. 

This beautiful temple is in Payson. It is brand new and absolutely gorgeous inside. The architecture is amazing inside and out. We were so happy to be able to see it.

Winter Wonderland

What I love about the Winter season is Christmas and all the beautiful lights adorning the homes I see  and the snow on the ground. Living in So. Cal there's none of that going on. I am grateful for the beautiful weather with the mild climate but sometimes I wish that I could see the beautiful wintery snow scenes. 

Messenger Bags

It's the weekend. I hope you have a lot of fun things planned. On the shop side of things, I've added two new messenger bags to the shop. These bags are nice and roomy and lots of pockets to organize your belongings.

Shop News

It's so nice to get back to doing what I love...sewing. There is something very therapeutic about the whole process, from designing to making the finished product. This Emma ruffled bag is one of my favorites to make. I love the added ruffled detail. No two are alike. These ruffles are all made by hand.

On Organizing

I had been placing all of my sewing fabrics and supplies in drawers. I knew that I needed to re-organizing my sewing space so that I can see and have instant access to what I need. I asked hubby to put up some shelves for me and he finished it before Christmas.

A Winter Wedding Part 2

I just love the beautiful decorations that Clarion Gardens put up for Christmas/Winter. It was so magical and amazing. This display was on top of a large cabinet. I love the grey paint used for it. The room was a bit busy at the time I took this photo so I just hurried up and took the photo of the display not the entire cabinet itself.

A Wedding

 We attended a beautiful wedding recently. The decorations were elegantly done. I love the beautiful simplicity of it all. I took a bunch of photos to share. The silk rose centerpiece was placed at each table for the luncheon. 

Handmade Gifts

I have been neglecting this blog of mine for far too long. There have been a few changes that required my attention so I had to put the shop on hold and focus on taking care of what matters most. Recently I just needed some girl time so I invited some friends over for craft day. It turned out to be just what I needed. We made some Nativity signs for Christmas.
